This “Air Pilot’s Manual” series of books was first conceived in the late 1980s and has developed from its original 4 volumes to being comprehensively and universally used. They now hold a pre-eminent position in the aviation training field. The original authors and editors (of whom Trevor Thom might ring a bell) have gradually been replaced by a superb team of highly qualified instructors and examiners and the publishers are keen to ensure that the books are accurate, up-to-date, informative and interesting. The fourth volume of this series contains basic Principles of Flight, together with a great deal of technical information about the airframe, systems and engines of light aircraft.
